How integrations work
Triggers, filters, retries and the guarantees behind every connector
Every connector follows the same rules - understanding them once explains all of them.
Trigger state
Each connection has a trigger: "act when the order is …" (bought, paid, sent, arrived). The semantics differ by connector type:
- Invoicing / order management (Lexware, easybill, DreamRobot, Billbee): the trigger means "this state or later". An order that jumps from paid straight to arrived between two syncs still gets its invoice - nothing is ever missed.
- Shipping / shop (Sendcloud, WooCommerce, Deutsche Post): a bought or paid trigger means active orders only - orders that are already sent or arrived are never exported (there is nothing left to ship). If you want shipped or arrived orders, select exactly that trigger.
Exactly-once delivery
Each order is exported at most once per connection - retries, reconnects and manual syncs can never duplicate an invoice or shipment. When you delete a connection, vendael remembers what was already delivered; reconnecting later will not push those orders again. Only the explicit "Re-export all orders" button overrides this memory.
History backfill
Connecting a tool can optionally push your existing order history (opt-in at connect time; Lexware defaults to on). Deutsche Post never backfills - stamps cost real money.
Failures and retries
Temporary problems (target API down, rate limits) retry automatically with increasing delays. Permanent problems mark the order as failed with the reason shown on the Integrations page - the red badge with "Retry failed" re-runs everything failed in one click after you fixed the cause (wrong API key, missing plan feature, empty Portokasse …).
If a tool rejects your credentials, the connection disables itself and you get an e-mail - update the credentials via Edit and enable it again; pending exports resume automatically.
Shipping-method filter
Sendcloud and WooCommerce can be limited to specific Cardmarket shipping methods (the method id from cardmarket.com → Account → Shipping Methods). Empty filter = all orders are forwarded.
