Automatic letter stamps for card orders - bought from your Portokasse, printed from vendael

Temporarily unavailable. New Deutsche Post connections are paused while we resolve an issue on the Deutsche Post side - the connector does not currently appear on the Integrations page. Existing connections keep working. This page describes how it works once it returns.

Buys the Internetmarke (a stamp that includes the printed recipient address) for your letter orders, straight from your Deutsche Post Portokasse. You print, stick, done - vendael can also mark the Cardmarket order as sent.

Every stamp costs real money from your Portokasse balance. vendael only buys postage for orders that match the letter rules you configure, never for your order history, and never twice for the same order.

What you need

  • A Portokasse account (portokasse.deutschepost.de) with some balance (top-up from € 10 via PayPal or card).
  • Your sender address filled in under Settings (it's printed on the stamps).

Connecting - two steps

  1. Portokasse login. Enter your Portokasse e-mail and password and request the connection. On the first connect, Deutsche Post e-mails you an approval request - open your Portokasse, approve the application under Geschäftsanwendungen, then click "I approved it - continue". Your login is remembered; nothing needs re-typing.
  2. Which orders are letters? Choose one:
    • Specific shipping methods - enter your Cardmarket letter methods (the method id from cardmarket.com → Account → Shipping Methods, or part of the method name like "Standardbrief"). Only those orders buy stamps, and the method decides the format.
    • All my orders are letters - every order buys a stamp; the number of cards decides the format (up to X cards → Standardbrief, up to Y → Kompaktbrief, above → Großbrief; thresholds configurable).

The stamp is bought when the order reaches your trigger (paid by default). Domestic and international destinations are detected automatically from the shipping address.

Mark as sent (opt-in)

After the stamp purchase, vendael can flip the Cardmarket order to "sent" - immediately or with a 1/3/6-hour delay, so the buyer's notification matches when the letter really goes into the mailbox.

The Letters page

Letters in the top navigation (also a card on the dashboard) is your print desk:

  • Open is the to-print stack - download stamps individually or use "Print all" for one merged PDF (oldest first, matching your letter stack). Then "Archive all open" clears the desk.
  • Archive keeps the history: order, format, price, dates.
  • Failed letters show the reason (e.g. Portokasse balance too low - top up, then retry) with a retry button.
  • Frank one order buys a stamp for any single order on demand, even outside your letter rules.

Stamp storage

Stamp PDFs are kept for 90 days, then deleted automatically - print your letters in time. The purchase record (order, price, voucher, dates) is kept permanently.

Good to know

  • Your order history is never franked - only new orders that reach the trigger after you connect. There is deliberately no "re-export all".
  • Orders already sent or arrived never buy a stamp.
  • If Deutsche Post rejects the login later (changed password, revoked approval), the connection disables itself and you get an e-mail - fix the credentials via Edit and enable it again.
