How vendael decides the VAT on exported invoices and orders
Invoicing and order-management connectors (Lexware, easybill, DreamRobot, Billbee) need a VAT rate per order line - Cardmarket does not provide one, so vendael computes it from the order's shipping address and your settings under Settings → Tax.
Modes
OSS (EU distance selling)
Destination-country VAT: each EU buyer pays their own country's standard rate, your domestic rate applies at home, exports outside the EU are 0 %. For sellers registered in the One-Stop-Shop procedure.
Fixed country
One country's standard rate for every order (default: your home country). The right choice below the EU-wide € 10,000 distance-selling threshold.
Custom rate
A flat VAT percentage you define - e.g. 0 % for Kleinunternehmer (§ 19 UStG) or margin-scheme setups.
Tag overrides
Hashtags override the computed rate - configure your tags and their rates
under Settings → Tax. A plain tag like DB is matched as #DB; a tag that
starts with / (for example /M or /D) is matched exactly as written, so
existing slash-style comment conventions keep working. Where the tag sits
decides its reach:
- Article listing comment - the rule applies to that article's line only.
Different tags on different articles of one order produce a mixed-rate
invoice: e.g.
#DB(0 %, Differenzbesteuerung) on one card and a#7tag (7 %) on another, with untagged articles staying at the computed rate. - Order note - the rule applies to the whole order (every untagged line).
Shipping is treated as a Nebenleistung and follows the rate that carries the largest article value on the order. Invoice remarks configured on a rule (for example the § 25a UStG margin-scheme note) are printed once per invoice.
Billbee limitation: Billbee's order model holds at most two different VAT rates per order. An order that would need three or more distinct rates is marked failed with a clear message instead of exporting wrong numbers - split the tags or book that order manually.
Where the rate ends up
Every exported invoice/order line carries the decided rate, and each export records which classification applied (domestic, EU-OSS, export, custom or tag). The connectors never let the target tool guess: what vendael computed is what appears on the invoice.
vendael computes rates from your configuration but is not tax advice - settle the mode (especially OSS registration) with your tax advisor.
